Week 20: Not the Witnesses! November 16-22, 2021
Hey Everyone November 22, 2021
This week was pretty great! My hand is still
hurting pretty bad but it's getting better.
We had exchanges with our STLs on Wednesday to
Thursday which meant I got to go back to my old apartment. Man, I don't miss
that place haha. Our apartment now is so nice in comparison.
We also had interviews with President Rodarte
this week. He is the coolest man. We talked for a few minutes about helping the
area work with members. I then just told him I'm really scared to go to
Guatemala and leave this mission. He told me how much he appreciated my service
here and is sad to see me leave but that he knows my mission president and his
wife are praying for me to make it there because they need me. It was so sweet
and I bawled like a baby haha. I am so grateful I have gotten the chance to
know the Rodartes.
I love all the different people I get to meet
out here in Vegas. We were walking down the road and a homeless man on a snazzy
bike rides past and he yells "oh no! Not the witnesses!" And I just
yelled back, "don't worry, we are the members of the church or Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints," (which is really hard to do in one breath
but so important ; )) and he went "ahh the Mormons. Pray for me!" And
then he was gone.
There are so many things that need to get done
as a missionary. The work honestly never ends, in a good way. But sometimes it
can feel overwhelming. I was feeling kind of down on myself because I felt like
we just didn't have enough time for all we had to do and because one thing
wasn't working out, I was failing. But I had these questions pop into my mind:
am I trying my best? Am I giving this area, this work, my all?" And I felt
the Spirit confirm to me that I am doing enough and that God is happy with my
efforts. God doesn't expect us to be perfect now. He expects us to try and to
do all we can. But Jesus Christ makes up for that difference.
Love you all!
Con amor,
Hermana Snow
