Week 4: July 29- August 4. 2021 I Wish We Had Class About Naming Emails...Im Already Out of Ideas and its only Week 4
¡Hola!
I GOT MY TRAVEL PLANS!!! I leave August 17 at 8:35am. I was so so so excited when I got my plans and I am so excited to get out into the field and serve the people of Las Vegas. This whole experience has not at all been what I expected but it has been so great. I hate not knowing how long I will be in Vegas, but a goal we set as a district was to "unpack your bags" no matter how long you are staying. Basically become invested in the work you are doing that day, in that moment. It's pretty solid advice so I'm gonna take it :)
This week was looooooooong. Not bad, just long. Whenever we have rain or bad weather my neck kills and I get headaches. Which sucks but I love the rain!!! So it works out in the end. One of the rainy days we had, Elsie and I spent the day out on the deck talking, studying, and maybe a little napping too. I got a lot done and it was so nice being out in the cool, fresh air.
My stake presidency meets with all of the missionaries that are in home MTC every Sunday. It has been such a great experience and I learn so much from the Elders and Sisters in the stake. This week we had two new missionaries! One of them shared how it has been hard for him to adjust to everything while still being surrounded by it all. He basically shared what I had felt my whole first week. All of us missionaries are in the same boat and we completely understand each other. I love when one of the missionaries prays or shares something in a different language. Even when I don't understand their words, I can still feel the Holy Ghost. I always feel so rejuvenated and spiritually filled after these meetings.
Something that I have really come to love in the MTC is "Meeting Anothers" activities (isn't that the cutest name). We meet with members and give a quick lesson (en español por su puesto). For ours this week, Hermana Skouson and I asked the question, "if you could see Christ, what would you ask Him?" The responses we got were really great! One person said, "I would ask what He would want me to do." Someone else just didn't know how to respond. And the last person we asked said she would ask Him how he had the strength to do the Will of the Father. It was so beautiful and she started crying which made me tear up too. We all could feel the Spirit so strongly. At the end of the lesson she told us she finally received an answer to her prayers while talking to us. Last week (I think...) I shared how I was having a hard time. Well, after this experience it just reaffirmed everything I had felt after praying about being on a mission. Everything I am doing is so worth it!! God is so good!
I also got to go to the Jordan River Temple with part of the district this Wednesday. I love spending time in the temple and with my district so it was just all around great.
Love you all!
Hermana Snow
