Week 14: Baptism of Jesus: Spanish Edition October 5-11, 2021

Hello fam!                                                                                        October 11, 2021

This week was really hard. I am adjusting slowly but surely to the area and all the new things that come with it. We had a lot of stuff happen that made it really hard to be a good missionary lol. For one, our zone leaders (I love them, bless their hearts) took our car away and gave it to other elders. They felt horrible and really didn't want to, there was just no other way. It just is so hard because we live 3 miles from our area and to get there we have to go up a few large hills. In Vegas. For those that served their missions without cars... you're my hero. I miss my car so much.

Buuuuut, even though it was a hard week, there were so many miracles! God is good even when everything else isn't. For one, our friend Jesús was baptized. He was so excited and it was a beautiful experience. His friend, Juan, baptized him which made us giggle a lot. Get it, Juan baptized Jesús (John baptized Jesus).

We also had the amazing opportunity to go walk around the Las Vegas temple grounds with Jesús. He's a really funny guy and super irreverent. There's this cool echo thing on the grounds and he kept calling it witchcraft haha. He also tried to open all the doors we walked by... but he loved it and has asked us several times since that he wants to go! He's so awesome. We love him so much.

I also love my companion so much we get along so well. We spend most of our time giggling or her giving me a pep talk which is much appreciated.

Going on a mission has given me a huge appreciation for the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. I love studying it every day. This week I was reading in Ether (such a good read, who needs books?) And it just made me realize how God has a plan for us. He has prepared a way for us to return home. And just as he helped the people of jared get to the promised land, He can guide us through this life. Read the Book of Mormon, you won't regret it.

Love you all!

Con amor,

Hermana Snow
