Week 17: You're just too old to understand. October 26 - November 1, 2021

Hey Everyone,                                                                                   November 1, 2021

This week was a weird one. They all are. It seems like nothing happened and so many things all at once. Also, Happy Halloween!

I had my first ever trunk or treat! It was so fun! We invited so many people we are teaching but no one showed up... so we just walked around and talked to everyone! Before my mission, talking to all those people would have been terrifyingly impossible, now it's just fun. God really can refine us and make us into someone we didnt know we could become. I still have a ways to go but progress is progress.

As for the title of this email. As we were setting up for the trunk or treat, a member of the English ward was being so rude to Hermana Perry (my literal favorite person, she's a feisty angel) and then he just kept saying offensive things about women in the church, missionaries from Utah, and other things. I had steam coming out of my ears. All the missionaries were just really tired of him but there isn't much you can do. We just kept working. My dear companion said something was "fire" which is missionary lingo for something being super awesome. He tried to roast her and then, my sweet, extremely kind, wouldn't hurt a fly companion threw out "I guess you're just too old to understand." I have never been more proud of her haha (just kidding she kills it every day but it was awesome). So moral of the story, respect people and don't get on Hermana Jenkins bad side.

Speaking of progress, I've finally accepted biking and while it's not my favorite, it's not my least favorite. I even rode up an extremely steep hill (like 85 degree angle) for fun. It was the craziest hill I've ever seen and I just had to. It was so hard to bike up but it made so happy to do it. And then we found so many people! One of them was this awesome dude, Carlos (everyone's name is Carlos or Maria). When we talked to him he said he was too busy to talk with us and then a lightbulb went off. He told us he wouldn't be too busy of Jesus showed up and so he shouldn't be too busy for representatives of Jesus. It was so awesome.

As we were biking home one day, we stopped and talked to this lady and her baby. She looked so tired: emotionally, spiritually, and physically. We were all waiting for the same light, but we kept talking through like three light changes. We shared how much God loves her and how the Gospel really can bless her life and her families life. I've taught these principles a lot on my mission, but as I shared it with her, I knew it with my whole soul. God loves her, God loves me, and He loves all His children. I love that I get to share that with so many people everyday.

I love you all! Sorry it was so long 💗

Con amor, Hermana Snow
