Week 30: January 25-31, 2021 "This might sound cheesy, but I love Jesus."
Hey Everyone- January 31, 2021
This week was so stinking amazing!! Which is
good because my time in the NLVM is wrapping up. Sooo let's get to it.
Tues- I had what I thought was my last time
teaching English class in the states. It made me so sad I cried after it was
over! English class is the best! But I found out later I'm going to have
another one before I leave.
Wed-we had dinner with this older couple from
Mexico. They are so kind. Not interested but they want us coming over to share
the word of God and to feed us. I told them I was leaving soon and they were
wishing me luck and then John started to cry! It was the sweetest thing and
made me feel so loved! After that we were at our ward mission leaders house and
I got an email letting me know they changed the day I was flying out from the
1st to the 3rd. Tbh it made me feel weird and I'm not sure why. So instead of
Tuesday I leave Thursday for the great country of Guatemala.
Thur-we got to go to seminary! Shout out to
all you early morning Seminary kids. You are in class before the missionaries
even wake up... it was lowkey torture to go out that early but it was so fun to
talk with the kida.
Later we were calling a TON of people
because a lesson canceled. We called this lady, Celine, and I was introducing
the book of Mormon to her. I asked if she had read the Bible, but it turns out
she grew up not believing in Christ and so had no background for anything I was
saying. Tbh most people, if not all people, I've talked to on my mission know
christ in some way. But when she said she knew very little about Him, I was so
excited for her to get to know Him! And I said, "this might sound cheesy
but I love Jesus!" And it's so true! He is so amazing and I feel like I've
really gotten to know Him more on my mission.
Fri- TEHANI'S BAPTISM!!! oh my goodness! It
was the most amazing thing ever!!! The spirit was so strong and I could just
feel how much Heavenly Father loves her. It was my first time as a witness for
a baptism so that was really cool! She bore her testimony at the end and it was
one of the most powerful testimonies I have ever heard. Tehani is so amazing!
Sat-So a stake in Henderson (which is not in
my area) was having a Preach my Gospel camp. They paired up two youth with each
companionship of missionaries and we took them out for the day to be
missionaries. It was so stinking fun to have two cute, little companions for
the day. The girls we got were Chloe and Emma and it was just so fun! I was so
impressed with their desire to work and to share the gospel with people for
that day. At the end of the day we were all almost in tears because we didn't
want to say goodbye
But our lessons were so great that day. A
family in our ward bought Canes for us for dinner (oh my goodness I love
Canes). We had a lesson with Matilde and she's so ready for her baptism. I
cried talking with her about going to the temple with her in a year and also
about leaving before her baptism. And we ended the day with a lesson at our
branch mission leaders house. He has a snake and I literally almost bolted for
the door when I saw it. They had to promise me he wouldn't escape his cage
before I calmed down slightly. Definitely was on edge the rest of that visit
haha.
Sun- we went too early to church (we thought
there was a meeting) and were there from 7am-3pm. I love church but not that
much. I also had a lady make a horrified face when I told her I was going to
Guatemala. She told me that it is "¡un país tan feo!" Haha I love
it.
So sorry this email was long... I'm just
trying to make up for the trash emails I've sent the past like 2 transfers
(whoops). Jesus loves you and I love you! Yall should go read Exodus 4:10-12,
it's so beautiful ![]()
