Week 39: Halfway there! March 31-April 6, 2022
Hey Everyone April 6, 2022
I'm 9 months or halfway
through my mission
time flies and time is
so slow at the same time. I feel like yesterday I just started but also that
I've been doing this so long. It's been the hardest and most beautiful
experience of my life. I'm so grateful for this opportunity to serve the Lord
and to dedicate this time to Him. And if any of you are thinking about going on
a mission, listen to the apostles and serve!
This week was so good. I am loving Reformita.
It's the safest I've felt my whole time here in Guatemala haha and it is just a
cute, calm neighborhood (although we've heard that it's actually super
dangerous here haha). As the mission nurses though we get a lot of calls from
missionaries and we have to schedule appointments, work with insurance, work
with Hermana Hruska, and more. Sometimes it takes a lot of time and can be
stressful.
I had been so overwhelmed before conference
but all throughout conference I was lovingly reminded that my best efforts, no
matter how small they may be, make all the difference because with Jesus Christ
our efforts are magnified. This conference was so beautiful and powerful. These
men and women are truly called of God to lead us in these times.
We are teaching a man from Colombia and he is
one of the funniest people ever. He is 25 and loves to listen to us but doesn't
really want change even though he knows it's true. Well we were talking with
him until pretty late (like 9:30pm don't worry) on the phone. We asked him to
say the closing prayer and he said he wanted me to say it. I told him that it
was just too late so I couldn't speak Spanish anymore haha. We all laughed and
he said the prayer. During the prayer he asked a blessing that I would be able
to speak Spanish at this hour. Hermana Vela and I died laughing we had to mute
the phone call. Never a dull moment with hermano David. I've learned a lot from
people I'm teaching to truly speak with God and to say what's in our hearts. He
is our Father. He loves us and He wants to hear from us. Something I loved from
conference was Elder Hollands talk. We truly are Heavenly Father's most
precious possession. Don't forget that He loves you!
Con amor,
Hermana Snow
