This week. Man, oh man. The stress really hit. I just kept thinking about leaving and how unprepared I felt. And then add to that the mixed messages from multiple people and leaders about reassignments, visas, and everything else. It was a lot to take in. My stress level peaked Tuesday afternoon. But luckily enough for me, my district had one last temple visit on Wednesday. I was reminded very lovingly as I went through that God really has a plan for me and for each of us. Which funnily enough is what I’ve said in so many lessons this week. But I really felt that as I went through the temple. So it doesn’t matter if I’m in Vegas for two weeks or 18 months. Whatever happens, is His plan for me. Another thing I learned at the temple is my mom and I cannot spend time together in the celestial room. We have laughed way too much to be acceptable. I had to move away from her while there because I couldn’t stop laughing. But that didn’t help because I looked over at her and just started ...

¡ Hola! I GOT MY TRAVEL PLANS!!! I leave August 17 at 8:35am. I was so so so excited when I got my plans and I am so excited to get out into the field and serve the people of Las Vegas. This whole experience has not at all been what I expected but it has been so great. I hate not knowing how long I will be in Vegas, but a goal we set as a district was to "unpack your bags" no matter how long you are staying. Basically become invested in the work you are doing that day, in that moment. It's pretty solid advice so I'm gonna take it :) This week was looooooooong. Not bad, just long. Whenever we have rain or bad weather my neck kills and I get headaches. Which sucks but I love the rain!!! So it works out in the end. One of the rainy days we had, Elsie and I spent the day out on the deck talking, studying, and maybe a little napping too. I got a lot done and it was so nice being out in the cool, fresh air. My stake presidency meets with all of the missionaries that are in...

Hey Everyone, This week definitely had its ups and downs, mostly ups though. This is my MTC halfway point! And that makes me so sad! I love the MTC and I love my district so much. And Hermana Skouson is just the best companion you could ask for. It will be such a hard day when we are done. I was just really exhausted this week. I've been sick and then with the bad air quality and other things, I was just dead tired. One morning my alarm went off and thinking about getting out of bed made me snuggle deeper into my blankets. I started praying in my mind and just said, "I will not be able to get out of this bed. I need Your help." And then I just rolled out of bed. A lot of what I am doing I feel like I can't do. I sometimes feel like I am not good enough or not smart enough. All of that is Satan trying to get me. But I do know that with Christ I can do all things, even getting out of bed at 6:30 when I am exhausted. With Him, we all are magnified. Each week, we meet...

Hola! It feels like so much has happened this week! If we measured time in experiences, this week was like twelve years long. But it was so amazing. And I wish I could share every single experience but you all would get pretty bored. And Home MTC sounded so boring before I started, and it has its moments, but it is SO AMAZING. I wrote in my journal that we spend half the time laughing, half the time learning so much about the gospel, and the whole time feeling the spirit so strongly. I really really love my district. And oh my! Hermana Skouson is really the best. I couldn’t have gotten a better companion. My teachers are so great too. We all have made Hermano Gallegos (our afternoon teacher) our zoom profile picture and it’s the absolute best. It made Hermana Murua (our morning teacher) die laughing when she saw it. H. Gallegos will always say, “if you didn’t do this, I’m going to keel someone!” And it makes us laugh every time. Accents make life much more interesting. And ...
